  MISSION STATEMENT
  

The overall mission of the MLBA is to oversee and administer the operation of the baseball program on behalf of the residents of the Mt. Lebanon community. The MLBA subscribes to the belief that it's primary objective is to provide an outlet of healthful baseball activity and training, under qualified leadership, in an atmosphere of wholesome community participation.

The five main objectives are as follows:

(1) Teach the game of baseball (2) in an enjoyable fashion and (3) teach the values of sportsmanship and teamwork while (4) understanding honest competition and (5) promoting self esteem.

The MLBA supports the playing of baseball in Mt. Lebanon by all residents from youth to adult.

To this end, we hereby commit ourselves.  

MLBA has baseball programs for all youth (boys and girls) from first grade through high school. We also offer a team for adults. Pinto League is for 7 and 8 year olds. Minor League is for 9 and 10 year olds. Major League is for 11 and 12 year olds. Pony League is for 13 and 14 year olds. Colt is for 15 and 16 year olds and Legion/Palomino is for 17 and 18 year olds. Federation is for adults. Note: We have an age policy to comply with the Little League Rules.

PLAYING AGE IS DETERMINED
BY THE CHILD'S AGE AS OF May 1st.

Mt. Lebanon Baseball Association (MLBA) regulates
League Play in accordance with Little League standards, not school grade.
 
Example:
4/95 birthdate is Playing Age 11 = Major League
5/95 birthdate is Playing Age 10 = Minor League. 

MLBA encourages all players to participate within the League so designated above based on League Playing Age. Any player participating in any League older then League Playing Age must be approved by the MLBA Board of Directors by submitting a written request to the President, MLBA. Any player older than League Playing Age is NOT eligible to:

1. Pitch within that League; and

2. Participate in any All-Star game.

Exception – Any player with a physical / mental disability may request participation over League Playing Age, without the above restrictions, by petitioning the MLBA Board of Directors – attention President, with a written explanation, and / or documentation, verifying such disability. As such information received will be kept confidential.
