Basic Game Rules/Reminders:

  • Please be at the field 15 minutes prior to the start of your game. All games are to start on time and they cannot start without umpires!
  • If you cannot make a game for which you have been assigned, it is up to YOU to find a replacement.
  • Once you have a replacement, the Umpire Coordinator must be made aware of the change.
  • Do not switch places between the field/plate umpire positions during a game. Consistency is the first objective of any athletic official and is particularly important in baseball with regard to the strike zone.
  • In the event of a game cancellation due to weather, all efforts will be made to notify you of the cancellation as soon as possible prior to game time.
  • Be sure to take your Umpire Game Confirmation Form to all games and have them signed by the home team manager or you will NOT get paid! Extra copies will also be placed in the equipment storage bins with the umpire equipment. (Download Game Confirmation Forms in the Game Form tab)
  • Please have fun! This is a great experience and we want you to enjoy umpiring. We are all here to help you and to make your baseball experience a positive one!

Thank you to all of you and to your families for your contribution of your time and energies to the Mt. Lebanon Baseball Association. It is greatly appreciated by the players, coaches and all of the families involved!

Let's play ball.
