Volunteer Role Descriptions

Volunteers can register by selecting the volunteer position below under Team Personnel Listing, login and go to Volunteer Opportunities to provide the required information. Alternatively, volunteers will also have the opportunity to register during the player registration process.

All Volunteers are required to submit appropriate background clearance information to become a verified MLBA volunteer.

Head Coach
Responsible for conducting practices, managing games, evaluating and drafting players (where applicable), communicating with parents and creating a positive, fun environment that promotes good sportsmanship.

Co-Head Coach
Share head coach responsibilities with another coach.

Assistant Coach
Responsible for helping Head Coach at practices and games, and assume HC responsibilities in their absence.

Division Commissioner / Director
Responsible for soliciting coaches, coordinating schedules (with Director of Rec Leagues), organizing player evaluations and draft (where appropriate), and enforcing rules in assigned division.

Field Advocate
Responsible for regularly checking and reporting to the Director of Fields the condition of field(s) assigned and restocking field supplies (chalk, field dry, etc.). Typically assigned a field in volunteer's district (close to home).
